If you're like me, you probably start your presentation prep by jotting down ideas in list form. Whether it's on the train, in between meetings, or using your phone, capturing inspiration quickly is essential. However, turning those rough lists into a polished presentation often feels like an unnecessary hassle—like it should be a lot easier!
Well, with the help of GPT-4, I’ve built a Google Apps Script that automates this process.
Now, converting your rough ideas into presentation slides is much less painful. You can see the script in action in the video—it’s incredibly fast and efficient.
How to Use the Script
Here’s a quick guide to getting started with my Google Apps Script that converts lists into presentation slides:
Step 1: Access the Script
Head over to this Google Apps Script link to create a copy of the script. Once you’ve made your own copy, you can begin customising it to suit your needs.
Step 2: Replace the Document ID
The script requires the Google Doc ID that contains your list. Here’s how you find and replace it:
Look for the docID variable in the script on line 3.
In your Google Doc URL, find the part between /d/ and /edit—this is your document’s ID.
Copy that document ID and paste it into the script as the value for docID.
Once done, save your changes.
Step 3: Run the Script
After updating the script with your document ID, simply run the script. You’ll see the log at the bottom of the screen—once the process is complete, the log will provide a link to the newly created Google Slides.
